1. Tell us why Nonprofits like LalaForever matter, specifically regarding children.
Non-profits like LalaForever are vital for children as they bridge gaps in resources and support. By providing essentials like school supplies, mentorship programs, and scholarships, they ensure kids have the tools and encouragement needed to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
2. If you could start your own non-profit, what would your focus be and why?
Creating and leading the “Pathways to Success” program under LalaForever would hold deep personal significance for me. It’s not just about a job or a program; it’s about embodying values that have shaped my journey. Growing up with a single mother, we faced financial challenges that led to calling off semesters which impacted my education to date. These experiences instilled in me a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had, and a fierce determination to ensure that all young people, regardless of their circumstances, have a fair shot at success.
Mentorship has been a guiding light throughout my life. I’m grateful to have had mentors who believed in me, encouraged me, and helped me navigate the twists and turns of life. Their support fueled my resilience and belief in my potential. Now, I’m driven by a deep desire to pay that kindness forward, to be that guiding hand for others who may be facing their challenges.
“Pathways to Success” isn’t just a program—it’s a mirror of my passions and expertise. It’s about bringing together educators, community leaders, and businesses to create something truly impactful. By leveraging our collective resources and knowledge, we can tailor our offerings to meet the unique needs and aspirations of the youth.
But it’s not just about education and mentorship; it’s about leveling the playing field. That’s why I’m passionate about integrating a provision for providing free laptops and internet bundle compensation, especially in regions where access to technology is limited. In today’s digital age, access to technology isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. By providing these resources, we’re not just giving them tools; we’re giving them opportunities—to learn, to connect, and to thrive.
Imagine the possibilities. A young student in a remote village in Africa, armed with a laptop and internet access, can now access educational resources that were once out of reach. A budding entrepreneur in an underserved community can now connect with mentors and resources to turn their dreams into reality. It’s about breaking down barriers and opening doors—to education, to opportunity, and to a brighter future.
Of course, none of this happens in isolation. It’s about collaboration—working hand in hand with local organizations, government agencies, and community leaders to ensure that our programs are tailored to the specific needs of the communities we serve. It’s about listening, learning, and adapting—together.
In the end, “Pathways to Success” isn’t just about what we do; it’s about who we are. It’s about embodying the values of equity, inclusion, and opportunity. It’s about empowering young people to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams with confidence. And it’s about making a difference—one life, one laptop, one opportunity at a time.
